Austin Cebulske's Soul Impressions
Soul Impressions, headed by Austin Cebulske, are a collective of jazz/roots musicians inspired by the infectious Black American soul, funk, jazz & roots music of the 60s & 70s. Drawing upon a deep reservoir of both grooving original compositions and colorful arrangements of classics by artists like Roberta Flack, Stevie Wonder, and Marvin Gaye, Soul Impressions craft a unique sound that is at once highly personal, deeply expressive, and physically immersive. Atop an infectious rhythmic bedrock, elements of Motown, New Orleans funk, R&B, jazz, and retro soul and pop are fused to make for an exhilarating improvisational musical experience through the medium of the best Black American soul Music.
Modelled after the warm & lively sound of the classic Hammond B-3 organ quartets of the 1960s, Soul Impressions meld the jazz tradition with R&B, soul, & pop unlike any other musical group to craft a uniquely rich sonic texture that speaks a wide array of audiences.
